The Great Alone(Book Redesign)
Background: I was given the task of redesigning a book cover, and I chose one of my favorite books, “The Great Alone” by Kristin Hannah. The story is about a family that moves to Alaska after the Vietnam War, led by Ernt Allbright, a former soldier struggling to find his place. He feels lost and abruptly decides to relocate his family to Alaska, where they face the harsh reality of cold winters and isolation.

Result: I redesigned the cover to show a house in the dark Alaskan wilderness, capturing the loneliness and sense of being in the middle of nowhere. This design reflects how Ernt’s suffering from the war made his wife and daughter feel alone, struggling in an unfamiliar place. The new cover aims to highlight the impact of his trauma on the family and their fight against both the harsh environment and their inner battles.
